Arkansas GFC Lists Opening Dates for 2013 Deer Hunting Arkansas deer hunters who plan in advance for upcoming seasons focus on scheduling vacations, making reservations and arranging other details of the annual major event. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has set deer season openings for 2013, and there is a change for archery hunters.
Kansas Firearm Antelope Application Deadline is June 8 The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) is accepting applications for the resident firearm and muzzleloader antelope permit drawing. Applications may be submitted online through the KDWPT website, ksoutdoors.com. Click “License/Permits” in the upper right-hand corner of the page to begin the process. South Dakota Hunting Seasons Proposed The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission has proposed changes in several fall hunting seasons, including West River Deer, Black Hills Deer, Archery Deer, Archery Antelope, Youth Deer, Muzzleloader Deer, Fall Turkey and the August Management Take for Canada Geese. Changes proposed for the West River Deer Season include:
Buck Deer Permits Reduced Slightly in Utah For months now, deer hunters have wondered how many general buck deer permits will be available for Utah’s 30 new deer hunting units this fall. On May 3, the Utah Wildlife Board gave the answer: 86,500. The board divided the 86,500 permits as follows:

Commission Sets 2012-13 Deer Hunting Seasons in Arkansas The upcoming deer hunting seasons for the state have been set by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The seasons were approved at today’s meeting of the Commission. Season dates for the 2012-13 deer hunting season: *Archery* – All zones: Sept. 15-Feb. 28, 2013.
Iowa Late Muzzleloader Deer Season Preview No sooner do Iowa’s shotgun season deer hunters hang up their gear, the late muzzleloader hunters head into the woods. About 32,000 late season muzzleloader hunters don’t have to compete with the crowds of shotgun season, but they do face the prospect of colder weather and more snow during their December 19-January 10 season.
West Virginia Early Antlerless Deer Archery and Muzzleloader Seasons Open in September The special antlerless archery and antlerless muzzleloader seasons will open in September on private land only in select counties throughout the state, according to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR). The early archery season opens September 12, 2011, and closes September 17, 2011. The early muzzleloader season opens September 19, 2011 and closes September 24, 2011. To participate in either of these seasons, hunters need to be aware of the following regulations.
South Dakota Elk, Bighorn and Deer Seasons Finalized The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Commission has finalized the 2011 Elk Hunting Seasons. The Archery Elk Season will have 89 "any elk" and 37 "antlerless elk" licenses this year. The Black Hills Firearm Elk Season will have 470 "any elk" and 395 "antlerless elk" licenses in 2011. The Firearm Prairie Elk Season will have 49 "any elk" and 79 "antlerless elk" this year.
Vermont's 2011 White-tail Deer Seasons Confirmed The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department announces that dates for the 2011 white-tailed deer hunting seasons have been confirmed. Dates for archery and muzzleloader seasons were intentionally omitted from the 2011 Vermont Hunting, Fishing & Trapping Laws and Guide because the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Board was considering adding an additional October muzzleloader and archery seasons at the time the guide was being printed. The Board voted not to implement any season changes.
