Oregon’s Controlled Hunt Draw Results Now Online

Hunters that applied for a 2012 fall controlled hunt can find out if they drew the tag online at ODFW’s Hunting Resources page.

Hunters will need to enter their Hunter/Angler ID#, last name, date of birth, and then click My Hunter Information and Draw Results.

A postcard with results will also be mailed this week to all hunters that applied for a controlled hunt.

Muzzleloader Antlerless Deer Permit Applications Available in Vermont

Vermont’s muzzleloader antlerless deer hunting permit applications are now available on the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department’s website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com).  A quick-link to the information and application is provided on the home page.

Tuesday is Arizona’s Fall Hunt Application Deadline

Don’t wait until the last minute to apply for Arizona’s fall draw for hunting deer, turkey, javelina, bighorn sheep, buffalo and pheasant. Applications must be received by the Arizona Game and Fish Department by 7 p.m. (MST), Tuesday, June 12. There are three ways to apply for the fall draw: online, in person or by mail.

Permit Applications Available for Special Deer Hunt in West Virginia

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Green Bank, W.Va., has announced that applications are now available and are being accepted for the special resident- only, controlled deer hunt at the NRAO site. This controlled hunt is organized and planned in cooperation with the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR).

2012-2013 Deer Permit Application Process Begins June 1 in Arkansas

Permit applications will be available for WMA doe quota, youth, archery, modern gun and muzzleloader deer hunts on several AGFC wildlife management areas throughout the state.

Applications are made only online at www.agfc.com beginning Friday, June 1. The deadline for applications is Sunday at midnight, July 1.

Each person may submit one application for each type of permit hunt (WMA doe quota, youth deer, archery deer, muzzleloader deer and modern gun deer).

Breech Loading Rifles of .35 or Larger Caliber to be Used During Primitive Firearm Deer Season in Louisiana

Act 68 of the 2012 Louisiana Legislative Regular Session, signed by Governor Bobby Jindal, allows breech loading rifles of .35 or larger caliber to be used during the primitive firearm deer season.

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, recently approved a list of primitive firearm calibers, smaller than .38, that would be legal for deer hunting in the state beginning with the 2012-13 hunting season.  That specific list of primitive firearm calibers is no longer needed since the .35 caliber or larger designation includes the calibers the Commission had approved.

Arkansas GFC Lists Opening Dates for 2013 Deer Hunting

Arkansas deer hunters who plan in advance for upcoming seasons focus on scheduling vacations, making reservations and arranging other details of the annual major event.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has set deer season openings for 2013, and there is a change for archery hunters.

Kansas Firearm Antelope Application Deadline is June 8

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) is accepting applications for the resident firearm and muzzleloader antelope permit drawing. Applications may be submitted online through the KDWPT website, ksoutdoors.com. Click “License/Permits” in the upper right-hand corner of the page to begin the process. South Dakota Hunting Seasons Proposed

The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission has proposed changes in several fall hunting seasons, including West River Deer, Black Hills Deer, Archery Deer, Archery Antelope, Youth Deer, Muzzleloader Deer, Fall Turkey and the August Management Take for Canada Geese.
