Wyoming's Big Game Lottery Held

Wyoming's version of the lottery was held with 820 resident and nonresident hunters hitting the jackpot with the completion of the annual drawings for moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat licenses.

Game and Fish records show that 540 moose licenses were issued of which 446 went to residents for overall drawing odds of 4.9 percent. Nonresidents received 94 licenses for a total drawing percentage of 7.1 percent.

Utah Meetings Will Discuss Permit Numbers for 2011 Seasons

Offering more spike bull elk hunting permits, a few more hard-to-draw mountain goat permits and fewer buck deer permits are among ideas Division of Wildlife Resources biologists will share at upcoming public meetings.

If you enjoy hunting spike bull elk or mountain goats, you'll probably like permit changes DWR biologists are recommending for 2011.

Washington FWC Meeting April 8-9

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission is scheduled to take action on a variety of new hunting rules at a public meeting April 8-9 in Olympia.

The commission, which sets policy for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), will meet both days in room 172 of the Natural Resource Building, 1111 Washington St. S.E. in Olympia. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. both days.

Washington FWC Hears 2011-12 Hunt Proposals

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission heard public input on proposed 2011-12 hunting season rules, adopted amendments to Puget Sound recreational clam and oyster seasons and approved three land transactions during its March 4-5 meeting in Spokane.

The proposed 2011-12 hunting season rules will be considered for final adoption at the commission's April meeting in Olympia. The hunt proposals include:

Landowner hunting permits to increase deer and elk hunters access to private lands in Asotin County.

Wyoming Moose, Mtn. Goat and Bighorn Sheep Apps Due - Feb. 28th

Resident and nonresident hunters are reminded that the deadline to apply for moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat licenses is the end of February. To be entered in the drawing, applications must be received at Cheyenne Game and Fish Headquarters by 5 p.m. on Feb. 28.

Wyoming 2011 NonResident Application Booklets Available Now

More than 13,000 nonresident big game application booklets for the 2011 hunting seasons are being mailed out this week to hunters who applied through the mail for the 2010 hunting seasons.

Utah's 2011 Sportsman Permit Apps Available Nov. 1st

Applications for next year's most prized Utah hunting permits — 2011 sportsman permits — will be available by Nov. 1.

Only Utah residents may apply for sportsman permits. One sportsman permit is offered for each of the following species: Desert bighorn ram, Rocky Mountain bighorn ram, buck deer, buck pronghorn, bull elk, bull moose, hunter's choice bison, hunter's choice Rocky Mountain goat, black bear, cougar and wild turkey.

Montana SuperTag Deadline is July 1
Eight lucky SuperTag hunters will win the chance to hunt a moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, elk, deer, antelope, mountain lion and bison in any legal district open for that species.
Yukon Permit Applications Available Now
Environment Yukon now has applications available for Yukon residents who want to enter the permit hunt lottery for moose, caribou, sheep, goat, deer or elk in a permit area, Environment Minister John Edzerza announced.
