RMEF Continues Fight for Wolf Management
Responding to the latest legal wrangling by environmental groups, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation again has entered into federal court an amicus curiae brief supporting wolf population management via state-regulated hunting in Idaho and Montana.
Montana's Big Game Seasons Will Not Be Extended
Montana's 2009 general big game hunting season will close Sunday, Nov. 29 at one-half hour after sunset. The general season closure includes hunting for most deer, elk and moose; and for black bear, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, and fall mountain lion.
Additional Opportunity for Montana Elk Hunters
Hunters with an antlerless elk permit for a hunting district where a general license holder can also hunt antlerless elk during all or part of the season will have additional opportunities this year.
Montana License System Will be Down Sunday
Hunters and anglers who need to purchase hunting and fishing licenses this weekend need to plan ahead. The state computer network that hosts Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' Automated Licensing System is scheduled for maintenance work from 7 a.m. to noon, Sunday Oct. 18.
