All those who want to take the class must attend the registration and orientation session at their class building to pick up class materials, even if they have registered online. Field day times will be assigned during the week of classes. Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985 must complete a hunter safety and education course before purchasing a Montana hunting license. The classes teach Montanans to be safe, responsible and ethical hunters. All classes are taught by certified volunteer instructors and are free to participants. There is no maximum age, and adult hunters, including parents, are encouraged to take the class and earn hunter education certification. To register online, go to the FWP website at http://fwp.mt.gov and follow the Education link to Hunter Education and View Schedule.
