Mississippi Alligator App Deadline June 15th
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks will began accepting applications for the 2010 Alligator Hunting Season on June 1. There are hunting opportunities on both public waters and private lands.
There are two public waters zones open to limited alligator hunting opportunities: (1) Pearl River/Ross Barnett Zone near Jackson, Mississippi and (2) Pascagoula River Zone in Jackson County. Applications are limited to Mississippi residents 16 years of age or older. Participants are selected by a computerized random drawing. The public waters season application deadline is June 15.
A private lands alligator hunting season will be opened September 10-October 3 in the following counties: Wilkinson, Adams, Jefferson, Claiborne, Warren, Issaquena, Washington, Humphreys, Holmes, Yazoo, Sharkey, Sunflower, Leflore, Bolivar, Hinds, Rankin, & Madison.
