Louisiana DWF Cancels Managed Deer Hunts
Due to military training, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries managed deer hunts on the Fort Polk and Peason Ridge Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) for Nov. 28-30 have been cancelled.
All future hunting season dates and managed deer hunts will proceed as scheduled on these two WMAs. Please refer to the 2008-09 Louisiana Hunting Regulations pamphlet for further information on future hunting dates and seasons.
For those interested in hunting on Fort Polk or Peason Ridge WMAs, a special registration for using the mandatory self-clearing permits is required once per year and can be obtained at Building #7654 at North Fort Polk. Daily military self-clearing permits are required and can be obtained at self clearing permit stations. Please check daily posted maps at self clearing permit stations showing closed hunting areas for that day.
For more information on areas open to hunt on Fort Polk and Peason Ridge WMAs, please call 1-888-718-3029 or 337-531-5715.
