The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) will hold two scoping meetings in April as part of its development of plans to manage mountain lions along the northern Front Range.

The first meeting will be held 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 20 at the Fort Collins Holiday Inn, 425 W. Prospect Ave.

The second meeting will be held 6-9 p.m., Thursday, April 22 at the DOW’s Hunter Safety Building, 6060 Broadway, behind the agency’s Denver headquarters.

Both meetings will have an open-house format, enabling the public to arrive at any time during the three-hour period to comment on mountain lion management. In Fort Collins, DOW personnel will sit at several tables with charts and data and meet one-on-one with participants who want to weigh in with their viewpoints.

Wildlife managers will provide background information on Colorado’s mountain lion population, answer questions from the public, and hear any recommendations. Written comments are encouraged as well.
