Leftover Deer and Elk Licenses On Sale Aug 13th

Leftover deer and elk licenses remaining after the draw will go on sale Aug. 13 at 8 a.m. at all Colorado Division of Wildlife offices statewide.

Service is on a first-come, first-served basis, except for the Denver, Fort Collins and Brush offices. These three offices will have a wristband process to randomly give hunters a position number in line that day.

Leftover licenses are limited licenses that are left over after the application and drawing process. They are available to all hunters; season participation and bag limit rules still apply. On that day, there will be a purchase limit of four deer, four elk and one antelope per person in line. This means a hunter may purchase one license for his or herself and up to three as gifts for friends or relatives (deer and elk only).

If you would like to participate by mail, applications are available on the Division's Web site, click here, but applications must not be postmarked prior to Aug. 1. All applications submitted prior to Aug. 1 will be disqualified.
