Last Chance for the 2005 Moose Hunt Lottery
It's the last chance for hunters who want to go after moose this fall: the deadline for entering the 2005 New Hampshire moose hunt lottery is May 27, 2005. Click here to enter online or pick up an application from any license agent. There is a nonrefundable $10 application fee.
Don't forget -- hunters can improve their chances in the lottery by applying every year. Under a bonus point system in place since 2004, applicants will have their name entered into the lottery one time for each consecutive year they apply. If you skip a year, you will lose all your accumulated points.
Lottery applications must be postmarked by midnight, Friday, May 27, or delivered to New Hampshire Fish and Game Department headquarters on Hazen Drive in Concord or submitted online prior to 4 p.m. EST that day. Winners will be selected through a random number draw on June 17.
In 2004, more than 15,500 applicants entered the lottery for the chance to win one of 525 permits drawn for the moose season. The same number of permits will be drawn in 2005. The 2005 New Hampshire moose hunting season takes place October 15 to 23.
