Arizona GFC Set Spring Hunts for Turkey, Javelina, Buffalo and Bear

The Arizona Game and Fish Commission during the Saturday portion of the meeting set the spring hunts for turkey, javelina, buffalo and bear.

Arizona's Leftover Deer, Turkey and Javelina Tags on Sale Now

The more than 5,500 hunting permits left over from the Arizona Game and Fish Department's fall drawing/lottery process are now available on a first-come, first-served basis by mailed application only.

For those individuals who missed the draw deadline for fall hunts or were unsuccessful in getting a permit-tag, there is a second chance at more than 4,300 deer tags, 900 fall turkey tags, and 300 juniors-only fall javelina tags through the leftover process.

Many Texas Hunt Applications Due August 12th

Hunters hoping to take advantage of economical quality hunts on state-managed lands are reminded of upcoming application deadlines. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be offering adult and youth only hunts by special drawing for a wide variety of species as part of its Public Hunting Program.

Applications for several hunt categories, including all archery only and crossbow hunts, pronghorn, and TPWD private lands hunts are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12. All gun deer and youth deer hunt category applications must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2.

New Mexico Leftover Elk, Deer and Javelina Tags Available in August

Youth and adult hunters who missed a shot at a big-game hunting license during this year's annual drawing will have another chance this August when the Department of Game and Fish puts more than 5,000 deer, elk and javelina licenses up for sale on the agency Web site.

New Mexico Big Game Drawing Results Available June 9th
Hunters who applied for New Mexico 2010-2011 deer, elk, antelope, ibex, javelina, bighorn sheep and Barbary sheep licenses can see if they made the drawing "lucky list" Wednesday, June 9, on the Department of Game and Fish website.

150,000 Apply for New Mexico Big Game Draw
The Department of Game and Fish received about 150,000 applications for 62,475 licenses in this year's drawing for deer, elk, antelope, ibex, javelina, bighorn and Barbary sheep hunts. Many applicants swarmed the Department Web site April 7, pushing the deadline all the way to the 5 p.m. cutoff.

Wednesday, April 7, is the deadline for hunters to apply for 2010-2011 deer, elk, antelope, ibex, javelina, Barbary sheep and bighorn sheep hunting opportunities allotted by draw in New Mexico.

Tis the season for consuming leftovers, so now you can add leftover spring hunt permits to the list – appropriately, there are even turkey leftovers available in person at all seven Arizona Game and Fish Department offices in the state.

The more than 35,000 hunters who applied for a tag to hunt spring turkey, javelina, buffalo or bear in 2010 can find out if they were drawn by visiting the Arizona Game and Fish Department's Web site or by calling (602) 942-3000 (option 2).
