Iowa Youth Hunter Education Challenge June 5-7
The Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) combines competition, education and fun for kids ages 12 to 18, at the 4-H Education and Natural Resources Center, in Madrid.
Doe Harvest Outnumbered Bucks in Iowa
Deer hunters reported harvesting 142,194 deer in Iowa during the 2008-09 hunting seasons, which is 4,020 deer fewer than in the 2007-08 seasons. The majority of the decrease was due to fewer antlered bucks and buck fawns in the reported harvest.
Iowa Deer Season Closes Sat. Jan. 10th
The Iowa late muzzleloader deer season comes to an end on Saturday, Jan. 10 and with it the final any deer season available to hunters.

Iowa DNR Updates Antlerless Tag Sale Date
The November antlerless-only deer licenses go on sale Nov. 15, not on Nov. 10 as listed in the Iowa Hunting and Trapping Regulations. The season dates are Nov. 28, 29 and 30.
