The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is conducting aerial surveys of big game in the elk ecology research study area of Big Game Management Unit 10.

Helicopter surveys in the North Fork Clearwater Study Area are conducted twice yearly, once in summer and once in winter. The surveys are a vital part of this study that is exploring the interactions between predators and big game animals.

Ultimately, information collected will allow Fish and Game to understand the relationship better between these species and facilitate meeting wildlife management goals.
