Free Hunting Services Seminar
In conjunction with its 15th Annual Convention, the Kansas Sport Hunting Association (KSHA) is hosting a free hunting services seminar on Friday, August 15, at the Best Western Holiday Manor in McPherson. The seminar features Bruce Hering, instructor of game preserve/shooting complex management at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, Ill. The seminar will deal with marketing, advertising, and operating a hunting facility as a business. Registration at the door on Friday will begin at 9 am. The seminar will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The KSHA Convention will begin Saturday, Aug. 16, at 9 am. A hospitality/registration hour, beginning at 8 a.m. will precede the convention. Hering, the keynote speaker, will inform attendees about the activity-based program at Southeastern Illinois College that trains learners to define goals, survey resources, determine feasibility, develop plans, provide evaluations, train personnel, work with clients, market operation, and support industry.
Other featured convention speakers include Roger Wells, Quail Unlimited national habitat coordinator, Americus, who will present "Wildlife Management on a Kansas Farm," a program about proven techniques to improve habitat for upland game birds, prairie chickens and waterfowl; Mark Klippert, president of the North American Gamebird Association in Hanover, Ill., speaking on issues facing the hunting and flight bird industry; and Dr. Mark Farmer, Ridley Poultry Services, Cullman, Al.
Other Saturday activities include a live auction, door prizes, and exhibitors from the area and around the country.
