Fish and Game Seeks Help Solving Elk Case

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking information concerning the shooting of an elk found three miles north of the Highway 3 and Highway 12 intersection at Arrow Junction, 11 miles east of Lewiston.

The elk was thought to have been killed on or about Friday, March 10. The elk was shot on private land bordering Highway 3 where it was dragged down a hill and gutted near a house. The homeowner was not home when the incident occurred.

Anyone observing hunters in these areas or with information about these crimes are encouraged to contact the Fish and Game office in Lewiston at 208-799-5010, or the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999.

Callers can remain anonymous, and cash rewards are available if the information is sufficient for a citation or a warrant to be issued. A conviction is not necessary.
