Illinois Hunters Asked to Support Sportsmen Against Hunger
The opening of the new deer hunting season on Sunday means thousands of families in Illinois will benefit from the generosity of deer hunters who donate to the Illinois Sportsmen Against Hunger program. Begun in 1989, Illinois Sportsmen Against Hunger (ISAH) allows hunters to donate deer they harvest to provide venison for distribution to food banks, food pantries and charitable organizations helping feed the hungry throughout the state.

Firearm Deer Harvest Among Best Ever
Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 114,209 deer during the seven-day firearm deer hunting season Nov. 18-20 and Dec. 1-4, Illinois Department of Natural Resources Director Joel Brunsvold announced today. The preliminary harvest total compares with the record-setting harvest total of 116,675 deer taken during the firearm season last year.
November Firearms Deer Harvest Up Five Percent
The preliminary results of the 2005 Nebraska November firearm deer season show the statewide harvest of deer was up 5 percent from the 2004 season, according to Kit Hams, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s big game program manager.
