The drawing for fall turkey licenses was held Aug. 23 and licenses are still available in four limited quota areas.

As of Aug. 26 there are 259 licenses in area 2 (Laramie Peak) type 1, 128 for area 2 type 2, 14 licenses in area 4 (Goshen County and Platte County east of Interstate 25), 15 licenses in eastern Laramie County (area 8) and 165 in area 9, Natrona County.

The remaining licenses are currently available as processed to both residents and nonresidents through the Game and Fish Department’s Cheyenne office.

General turkey licenses, allowing holders to hunt in areas 1, 3, 5, 7, 11 and 14, can be bought over the counter. Beginning Sept. 15, general licenses will be available from selected license agents in Campbell, Converse, Crook, Johnson, Niobrara, Sheridan, Weston and Fremont counties and G&F offices in Cheyenne, Sheridan and Casper.

Turkey licenses are $13 for residents and $61 for nonresidents. Hunters can only purchase one license.

Hunters are reminded only area 1 offers good public access.

Fall turkey applications are available at license agents, G&F offices, or by calling (800) 842-1934 or (307) 777-4600 outside Wyoming.
