The drawing for fall turkey licenses was held Aug. 24 and licenses are still available in four limited quota areas.

As of Aug. 27 there are 242 licenses in area 2 (Laramie Peak) type 1, 96 for area 2 type 2, 144 licenses in area 4 (Goshen County and Platte County east of Interstate 25), 14 licenses in eastern Laramie County (area 8) and 82 in area 9, Natrona County.

The remaining licenses are currently available as processed to both residents and nonresidents through the Game and Fish Department’s Cheyenne office.

General turkey licenses, allowing holders to hunt in areas 1, 3, 5, 7 and 11, can be bought over the counter from license agents and G&F offices beginning Sept. 15.

Turkey licenses are $12 for residents and $60 for nonresidents. In Wyoming, hunters can only have one license for the fall season and one license in the spring season.

Hunters are reminded only area 1 offers good public access.

Fall turkey applications are available at license agents, G&F offices, or by calling (800) 842-1934 or (307) 777-4600 outside Wyoming.
