Elk Hunt Applications Due July 15th
State Department of Natural Resources today reminded hunters that applications for a Michigan elk hunting license are available from June 15 to July 15.
Elk Hunts Up; Deer Hunts Down
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission has approved cuts to deer hunts in two areas where recently completed aerial surveys showed population declines. Meeting by conference call May 12, the Commission accepted department recommendations for reducing the deer hunts and increasing elk hunts in the Lemhi Zone.
A Look Back at the 2002 Elk Season
As hunters begin submitting their applications for the public drawing of 100 elk licenses for the 2003 season, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has posted on its website a new feature offering a look back at the 2002 elk season. Reward Offered in Bull Elk Poaching Case
The Division of Wildlife Resources is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for illegally taking a bull elk on Danish Bench by the Huntington Power Plant in central Utah.
Applications Now Available for Elk Hunting License Drawing
With the recent approval of the 2003 elk hunt, the Pennsylvania Game Commission will begin accepting applications today from those interested in being included in the public drawing for one of 100 elk hunting licenses to be made available for this fall’s season. The public drawing is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, and the elk season is set for Nov. 10-15.
Elk Hunting Applications
A total of 18 elk permits will be drawn June 28, 2003, in Jasper. One permit will be reserved for a youth under 16 years of age to hunt in zone 3. All youths under 16 (as of May 1, 2003) applying for an elk hunt will automatically be entered into this drawing. Applications must be postmarked by June 1, 2003.
Elk Poaching Near Flagstaff Prompts $750 Reward
The Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering up to a $750 reward for information about the poaching of two cow elk and the wounding of a third elk on the evening of April 10 in Hunt Unit 7 East, north of Flagstaff.
New Preference Point Purchase Option
A new option to allow the purchase of a preference point is available for South Dakota’s 2003 elk, bighorn sheep and mountain goat hunting seasons.
$80k RMEF Contribution For Improving Wildlife Habitat
A contribution of $80,000 to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to aid in efforts to revitalize wildlife habitat in the East Kootenay region was announced by East Kootenay MLA Bill Bennett on behalf of Water, Land and Air Protection Minister Joyce Murray. The announcement was made at a meeting of the Cranbrook Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Deer, Elk And Antelope Special Permit Applications Deadline Approaching
Big game hunters who plan to submit applications for deer B and antelope licenses and special elk permits must have their applications to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in Helena or postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service no later than June 2.
