Public Help Sought in Unit 8 Elk Poaching Case
The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking the public’s help in solving a poaching case in Game Management Unit 8 southwest of Williams that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Private Land Ranch-Only Elk Hunt Season Extended
Ranch-only elk hunts on private lands have been extended until Feb. 28, 2004, except in Game Management Unit 4, to help reduce elk depredation on private lands. The State Game Commission extended the date at its Aug. 20 meeting in Santa Fe, following a request by the Department of Game and Fish. The new date extends the season for private land ranch-only permits statewide by 28 days, although no additional permits will be issued.
Online Elk Application Deadline Approaching
Hunters planning to participate in Pennsylvania's upcoming 2003 elk hunt have 10 days - until Friday, Sept. 12 - to submit an application and $10 non-refundable fee via The Outdoor Shop on the Pennsylvania Game Commission's website www.pgc.state.pa.us. The deadline for submitting a paper application closed on Aug. 22.
Feedground Area Elk Hunters Need Extra Permit
Elk hunters in western Wyoming where elk populations are supplementary fed during the winter on feedgrounds are alerted they will need a special elk management permit in addition to their license beginning this fall.
Two Elk Hunts Possible
For the first time, some lucky Montana hunters will be offered the opportunity to harvest two elk this hunting season. A new state law enacted in April gave the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission the authority to issue a second elk license for antlerless-elk only to some hunters who receive an elk permit through the special drawings.
