Due to Flooding Concerns South Dakota GFPC Meeting Revised

Flooding concerns have revised the agenda and location for the June Game, Fish and Parks Commission meeting.

The GFP Commission will meet by teleconference on Thursday, June 2, beginning at 1 p.m. CDT.

There will be three sites open to the public who wish to be part of the teleconference: The Mathew's Training Center in the Foss Building at 523 East Capitol Avenue in Pierre; the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area Park Office at 43349 SD Highway 52 in Yankton; and the Rapid City Public Library Meeting Room B at 610 Quincy Street.

As part of the meeting, a public hearing on rule finalizations will be held at 2 p.m.

I wonder how that will hit

I wonder how that will hit the pheasant population.  That is the bread and butter of the South Dakota hunting season.

Lots of water is not good for the nesting birds.  If it's too wet, the nests get flooded and bird numbers go down drastically.

Hopefully it won't have too much of a negative impact.
