Date Correction for Deer Hunt Auction
The previously advertised date for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Access and Habitat Program Statewide Deer Hunt to be auctioned by the Minnesota/Wisconsin Chapter of the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep is incorrect. The correct date is March 22.
The event will be held at the Minnetonka Marriott in Minneapolis, Minn. For more information on the event, contact Brian Iverson at (612) 867-9981.
The auction tag awards the winning bidder an extended season from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30, 2003 to take one deer within Oregon wildlife unit boundaries. Any legal weapon may be used during the hunt.
Oregon's Access and Habitat Board, on behalf of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, is providing the tag to be auctioned. Proceeds from the auction will be used to fund projects that improve wildlife habitat and increase public hunting access throughout Oregon. The Access & Habitat Program was created by the 1993 Oregon Legislature and is funded by a $2 surcharge included in hunting license fees.
For more information on the Access and Habitat Program, contact program coordinator Susan Barnes at (503) 872-5260, ext. 5349.
