Ontario deer hunters are reminded that the deadline for applying for the controlled deer hunt draw is Tuesday, September 2, 2003.

Hunters may apply by using a paper application available at Ministry of Natural Resources district offices or at some outside issuers.

Another way to apply is to call toll free 1-800-288-1155 from a touch-tone phone to the Ministry of Natural Resources Electronic Licensing Line. The line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 11:55 p.m. [EDT] on September 2. Applicants should have a hunting version Outdoors Card, their choice of Wildlife Management Units, and their hunt code handy when calling.

Hunters should also note that the results of the antlerless deer validation draw, which closed July 31, will be made available on Monday, September 8. Please call the toll free number (1-800-288-1155) to obtain the results.

Complete information about the draws may be found in the 2003 Hunting Regulations Summary available from ministry offices, licence issuers and on the ministry's publications Web site at www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/pubs/pubmenu.html.
