Commission Approves License Waiver for Mobilized Military
They’re the best this country has to offer and they’re in far away lands protecting the United States. Commissioners from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission tried to repay them for their commitment to the country’s safety.
All members of the United States military mobilized for active duty will be allowed to hunt and fish in Arkansas, while on furlough, without a hunting or fishing license.
AGFC deputy director Loren Hitchcock made the recommendation to the commissioners. “We want to acknowledge and support the service of these sportsmen and the sacrifice made for our state and country,” he told the group.
It’s an easy process to utilize the special offer from the AGFC, Hitchcock explained. “They’ll just carry their environmental leave orders (furlough) along with their military I.D. while hunting or fishing,” he said. “They’ll then follow the rest of our regulations when they take an animal,” Hitchcock added.
