Hunters are reminded that the application deadline for spring 2012 hunts for turkey, javelina, buffalo and bear is Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 by 7 p.m. (MST).

Hunters can either apply online by visiting and clicking on the link to the online application service, or they can hand deliver their paper applications on deadline day (Tuesday, Oct. 11) to any of the seven Arizona Game and Fish Department offices located in Pinetop, Flagstaff, Kingman, Yuma, Tucson, Mesa and Phoenix. A list of office addresses is at

Game and Fish advises those who were considering mailing their paper application but haven't yet done so to either apply online or hand deliver it to ensure the department receives it by the deadline. Postmarks don't count.

Keep in mind that department offices are closed weekends and will also be closed on Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. Department office front counters will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and the office locations will accept hand-delivered applications until 7 p.m. on that day.

More information about the online application service and the draw process is at

Note: Hunters applying online are advised not to wait until the last minute in case there are technical issues with the online system on deadline day.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not planning to apply but I'm sure there are a few on here looking to. I guess since it's already past the deadline I hope everyone who wanted to put in for the spring hunts did. To me this seems kind of early to have apps in even for spring hunts. Do they really need 4-5 months to get the draw results? In Oregon we have to have our spring hunt apps in by FEB 10th and results are up by FEB 20th. Anyways I guess each state is different and I'm sure theres a method to their madness. Good luck to all that put in.
