Deer Season off to Excellent Start
The first harvest estimates for the early fall bow deer season (September 6 - 26) and statewide bow season opener (September 27) are in, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife (Division) reports the season is off to an excellent start. Although numbers for the traditional statewide fall bow opener are down some from last year (745 compared to 983), overall tallies are up as 6,235 deer have been taken by archers through September 27 compared with 4,685 deer taken by bow hunters during the equivalent period in 2002.
Purchase Deer Licenses Early to Avoid Delays
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) encourages firearms deer hunters to purchase their deer licenses now to avoid the rush that will occur before the general firearms deer season opener on Nov. 8.
Sahara Woods Property Open for Archery Deer Hunting

Hunter Education Fun Shoot October 12th
On Oct. 12 at 4 p.m., Marquette area hunter education instructors, sportsmen groups, and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks are sponsoring a "fun shoot" at the Army National Guard Weapons Range. This event is open to all hunter education graduates. The purpose of this event is to have an entertaining day on the range in preparation for the upcoming fall hunting seasons.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission today issued three important advisories to bowhunters heading afield for the upcoming archery deer season, which begins this Saturday, Oct. 4.

Approximately 200,000 bowhunters are expected to participate in the statewide archery deer hunting season, which opens on October 4, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
Archery Deer Season Opens September 27th
South Dakota’s archery deer season will begin Saturday, Sept. 27, and remain open through Dec. 31. Archers are reminded about the new archery equipment restrictions set earlier this year, and that archery licenses are unlimited in number and available throughout the archery season.
