South Dakota Elk, Bighorn and Deer Seasons Finalized

The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Commission has finalized the 2011 Elk Hunting Seasons.

The Archery Elk Season will have 89 "any elk" and 37 "antlerless elk" licenses this year.

The Black Hills Firearm Elk Season will have 470 "any elk" and 395 "antlerless elk" licenses in 2011.

The Firearm Prairie Elk Season will have 49 "any elk" and 79 "antlerless elk" this year.

Georgia Archery Range Now Open

A new archery range at Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge is now available for archers, bow hunters, youth groups and others interested in perfecting their target skills. While this is the first archery range located at a State Park, it is one of nine archery ranges currently available on public land in Georgia.

Vermont's 2011 White-tail Deer Seasons Confirmed

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department announces that dates for the 2011 white-tailed deer hunting seasons have been confirmed.

Dates for archery and muzzleloader seasons were intentionally omitted from the 2011 Vermont Hunting, Fishing & Trapping Laws and Guide because the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Board was considering adding an additional October muzzleloader and archery seasons at the time the guide was being printed. The Board voted not to implement any season changes.

North Dakota Issues All Non-Resident Any Deer Archery Tags

North Dakota's nonresident any-deer archery licenses, good for either whitetail or mule deer, have all been issued by lottery drawing for the 2011 bow season.

A total of 1,091 licenses were available, with 1,172 nonresidents submitting an application by the March 1 deadline. Unsuccessful applicants have their name placed on a waiting list if any licenses are returned.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department will have 1,091 any-deer bow licenses available to nonresidents in 2011.

Montana Offers Bow Hunting Classes in Missoula

Two bowhunter education classes will be offered in Missoula in February, and prospective students can register online now.

Students can elect to take a class on Saturday, Feb. 5 or Saturday, Feb. 12 from 8:30-5:30 p.m. at the Missoula Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) office, 3201 Spurgin Road. Students that take either of these classes must also complete a half-day field course on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 1-4 p.m.
