A Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks workgroup aiming to reach consensus on recommendations for elk archery hunting regulation proposals will meet in Lewistown Nov. 4.

The group is leading an effort to examine effective elk management and elk archery regulations in several north-central Montana hunting districts. The area includes most of the Missouri Breaks and 22 other elk hunting districts.

The meeting is set to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at FWP’s Lewistown Area Resource Office, 215 W. Aztec Dr. The meeting will conclude at 5 p.m.

The meetings are open to the public to observe but because the sessions are dedicated to the workgroup’s efforts they will not include public comment. Public comment opportunities will be offered when the FWP Commission considers recommendations during the biennial season setting process this winter. For additional information call 406-444-2612.

  Sounds like additional

Sounds like additional great opportunities possible for Montana archery elk hunters.  Good for them if that is the outcome of this workgroup's effort and additional areas are opened up or additional tag opportunities are made available.
