Beginning in October, online registration will be available for the four youth deer hunts on the Fred T. Stimpson Community Hunting Area in Clarke Co., Ala. The online registration will begian, October 15, 2009, on the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) Web site, Each youth may register one time only, but will be eligible for all four drawings. Once chosen the youth can hunt only once. The online registration will replace the previous registration process.

All applicants will be able to check the results of the drawing on the same Web site that they registered on. The chosen hunters will have until 5 p.m. the following day to accept the invitation. An alternate list of hunters will be selected after the primary list is drawn, in case the primary hunter cannot attend the hunt.

If the youth accepts the invitation, but does not show up for the hunt, their name will not be added back to the selection process for the remaining hunts.

Seventy youth hunters will be selected for each deer hunt. Youth must be under 16 years of age on the day of the hunt and must be accompanied by a properly licensed adult 25 years or older, or a parent or legal guardian. Only the youth will be allowed to hunt or carry a weapon during the hunt, and only one weapon is allowed.
