The South Dakota Department of Game Fish and Parks would like to remind sportsman that their 2004 fishing and small game licenses expired on Jan. 31. With the upcoming warm weather, there is an expected increase in fishing and outdoor activity, and sportsman should purchase their new licenses.

"Hunters and anglers are reminded that they need to have their licenses up to date," said Chuck Schlueter, communications manager for the Division of Wildlife. "With South Dakota hunting and fishing licenses being valid through January, it is extremely easy to forget to buy a new license, and we want to make sure everyone is aware of the expiration date."

Licenses can be purchased at many sporting goods, grocery and department stores, as well as gas stations and convenience stores across the state. They can also be purchased over the internet at www.sdgfp.info.

Residents can purchase an annual fishing license for $25 dollars, a small game license for $29, or a combination license for $49 dollars. Non-residents can expect to pay $60 for an annual fishing license and $110 for a 10-day small game hunting license.
