Where I live it seems like more women hunt in some way or another than don't. My neighbor's 12 year old daughter shot her first moose this last season, that is awsome. My girls will hunt at the right age as well. It's just a way of life here that really goes without saying.

My wife likes shooting cottontails and jack rabbits. Last fall she shot her first mule deer. It's a wonderful thing to help someone find the joy of hunting and bringing home some meat; man, woman or child. Also she's really awesome to have in hunting camp after sundown!

Don't know one female hunter but I haven' t been paying much attention.

I tried taking mrs hammer1 hunting but that was a mistake. Too cold, too early, and the list goes on.
Now I take along my dog for the trip because he eventually grew up and stopped the whining.

Only have known of three female hunters. My highschool girlfriend and her two sisters. They were also three of the most attractive girls I've seen, well except for my wife now of course I guess their dad figured he didn't have any boys, so being a very avid hunter himself, he tought all his girls to hunt. Those were some fun trips.

Female hunter here. Me and my hubby concentrate on hog and recently got into spearing which we both enjoy very much. Well, I do anyway as he does all the rough stuff and leaves the submission and the kill to me.

It sounds like it would be fun Yes (possibly dangerous with them being sisters ) I have took a few girlfriends hunting and killed two deer while women were with me .the hunting seemed to last only for a little while and then turned to something else.

I am one. I know quite a few, and run a program that teaches urban women to hunt. I have recruited, over the last two years, 20 women into hunting that had no prior experience, and they have recruited their husbands, co workers, children and friends.

I teach shooting skills, camping skills, 4 wheel driving skills, back country survival skills, field dressing, game retrieval, processing and game cooking, Dutch oven cooking, hunting techniques, CPR and field first aid, personal safety awareness, GPS, map and compass reading and anything else a person needs to know to be able to continue to hunt on their own.

My students last year alone contribute over $25,000 to the local economy in the purchase of guns and hunting equipment.

Unfortunately, the program is in jeapardy do to the lack of funding and support from the hunting industry.

Diana, thanks for getting involved! Those programs are great. My wife has been in some of the BOW events here but unfortunately here in NJ the funding is not available either and the program is on hold for at least this year. She did sign up and is going on a 3 day event that is being put on by the state of Delaware next month. She is really looking forward to going.

Thanks for the welcome. Seems pretty quiet on this forum. Does it pick up later in the year?
