The spread of disease is real and therefore these outfits should be regulated carefully.

Banning seems half-cocked though, since cattle and sheep ranches are not banned.

I agree game farms should be regulated similar to any ranch with livestock, but not banned.

If spread of disease is a concern, then the animals should be tested & certified disease free.

Just like anything else man gets involved in. He over does it until the activity has little in common with what he started with. Then it breaks up into factions that all believe that they're the only ones who got it right. The next thing you know the government gets involved and makes laws......that usually fixes everything.

That's true Scott, the government does always seem to follow up behind an event, regulating after the fact. Current examples are the SEC wanting more disclosure about CEO salaries/bonues/loans in public accounting statements. The security boom after 9/11. Protection for 401k investments being more diversified after Enron's employees losing theirs because the whole plan was rolled into Enron stock...

However sometimes after a big event, the governments reaction regulation can be too much and needs to be adjusted after some "cooling off period". That is too say that the first round of laws are not always right.

Well just some thoughts...

I agree it should be regulated. Although, people that harvest an animal behind a fence should not refer to the fact that they were hunting.
