I'm new to this site but in the short while, it appears that maybe Bitmasher or Cowgal could assist you a bit with your Colorado goal.
I'm certainly NOT speaking for them as I don't know them, but they both seem to be from(?) Colorado or at least might be knowledgeable in the "Lay of the Land"
re: regs.
I'll just stick to the less hunter trafficked states/areas. Good luck and be safe!!
