 It was a very difficult year out her in Western MA compared to years before. Many usual successful hunters were disappointed this season. I don't know if it is due to a high winter kill last year coupled with an apparent increase in the coyote & black bear population and/or the very strange weather patterns we've had.
It seems that many more hunters were succesful during muzzleloader out here this year and I am anxious to see what the numbers look like for it. I heard of many more large bucks being taken this muzzleloader season than any other at the checking stations. We'll just have to wait and see.
