i have been out scouting and know where several toms are roosting and where there strutting areas are, does any body know if these will change before the season opens.

I not an expert but from my experience they will still be there. Unless something forces them out of the area.
I've hunted this one place for a few years now and every year (so far) the turkeys have roosted and travel in the same area. I betting/planning on it agin this year too.

I have seen the turky's strutting out in a small field a couple of evenings, but i can only hunt tell noon hear in new york , would they be there in the morning or is that just a spot they go before they fly up to there roost for the night ?

Well if your seeing them there in the evening and its close to dark im sure they are roosting near by. So setting up in there in the morning would def be a good plan.

owl hoot them in the evening, then again in early am. last weekend was youth season in ny, my son had a blast and got his first turkey on sunday. a jake, but the rule is no more jakes! now he has to work for them.

I hunted the first three days of the season. Saw hens each day but only heard two toms from a distance. I hunt state land and am limited to land that is not always the best. Had fun though and also saw deer each day. I will be going out a couple of times before the end of the season.
