I spent all day today on my first day of scouting. Didn't see any tracks or get any responses, but speaking with the locals at a gas station kept me encouraged.
It's my first year turkey hunting and I'm pumped!

Well you're one up on me because I haven't been able to get out and scout just yet. With my current course load it's looking like opening weekend is going to be the start of my scouting. Last year I learned that it's those couple weeks in that start to get real interesting. Although the warm weather we were experiencing there for awhile got me kind of nervous. Especially after I heard rumors of birds already displaying in full strut.
Thanks goodness for the snow this past week... it'll put the birds back in check hopefuly long enough for the season to begin.
Anybody got any updates on what the birds are up to in different parts of the state?
