Neither one of our current candidates seem like appealing hunting partners to me. In fact the only President I can think of who would have been was Teddy Roosevelt as he liked the west and big game hunting. If we had a Pres. or Pres. candidate who was an elk hunter that might fire me up a bit.

The dove hunting Presidents and Vice Presidents don't really do it for me as I don't really consider that hard core hunting. Also, if one of them sipped the flask one to many times you might get shot in the face! Laugh

C'mon we all saw that one coming a mile away.

I think I remember reading recently that McCain doesn't own a gun, I'd think neither does Obama. Probably neither of them are into hunting. McCain's a little old for new sports but it would help if Barak at least took up target shooting, must be a pistol range in the basement of the White house somewhere.

I worry much less about gun control laws than access to public land. In my state I can go get a concealed carry permit for a small fee and a few hours in a class. Not worried about background checks. Heck if I were limited to buying one gun a month my wife would be writing our congressman to vote for it.

My big problem is non hunters wanting to limit access to land. I also worry about the re introduction of wolves and the out of control cat population. Doubt we'll hear about those isues.

Theres always Hilliary. I would agree that I would be more inclined to vote for a guy with my intrests at heart. But, you could make that argument about almost everything.

It is sad that the democrats are so scared that they have a group of people photoshopping these bikini, vogue and skirt pics.
I also can understand that we may have members here that do not like the current Vice President. But we get enough heat from uninformed anti liberals, That the coment above from a supposed sportsman about a flask and a shooting is certainly a stereotype we all are hurt by seeing. It is one thing to be a Democrat and try to bash the right, But why hurt sportsmen in the process.
Sportsmen are always looking for someone to support them and stand up for them. I hope they all show this woman the support She deserves. She is after all one of Us. What more could we wish for.
Not all Muslims are terrorists, But all Terrorists are Muslim's.
Not all republicans are Conservatives, But all liberals are democrats.
Not All Democrats are Anti's, But all the Anti's are Democrats.

You can't use one issue as the single defining factor to base all your decisions on. You expect a person to vote for her just because she shoots guns and hunts when you may be diametrically opposed to her on every other issue???

Being the 'supposed sportsmens' who made the sipping from a flask comment about o'l shoot em in the face, sorry to hurt your sensibilities there pal, but I don't mince words and I do believe he waited for a whole day to report the incident to authorities to let the blood alcohol content diminish.

Not all people are myopic narrow minded dolts, but unfortunately some are
and they can vote.

So just which factor would open your eyes, SoCo? You're willing to ignore Obama's voting record, public statements, and associations that document his anti-gun beliefs. Now you're willing to believe that Palin's avid interest in hunting or fishing doesn't imply anything about the McCain ticket's stance on the 2nd Amendment.

Wow. There must be crack in that kool-aid.

And as far as the BAC conspiracy theory goes, just because Ted Kennedy did it doesn't mean Cheney did. Not everybody uses the Democrat playbook. Besides, Cheney's witnesses lived.

Being a hunter has very little effect on how I veiw a politician. Some good, some bad as with any group. Putin the current strongman of Russia formerly the Soviet Union is a good example. What are Putin's and Palins views on increased oversight by the Securities and Exchage Commision, we don't know. Probably Putin is more familiar with it than Palin is.

If your too dense to understand diametrically opposed to every other issue then that's your problem as well as csumeralls.

Saddam Hussein hunted had game preserves and plenty of weapons. Is he now your HERO? Should your idol Bush not invaded cuz after all he was a HUNTER and had GUNS.

C'mon Expat by your logic if they hunt and own a gun their good to go no matter what they might have done in the past or how much you disagree with em.

Also, C'mon why else would Cheney wait so damn long to report it??? Pretty damn obvious to me. Again knowing your rank hypocrisy if it was a Dem who waited that long you'd be all over it saying the same thing I am.

What exactly is my problem, is it that i dont smugly look down upon others, attempt to discredit others upon personal issues. Or is it that I just dont fall in line with what you believe. Or maybe its because you resent the fact that I have certain values that I believe are important and am unwilling to change. I dont know. But, you are little out of line saying that i have a problem. I am not voting the big R because Palin is a sportsman, Its because their beliefs are closer to mine than the Democrats. Plain and simple, I personally dont care where you stand on the issues, you are unwilling to accept that another party maybe better in certain aspects.

SoCo, not once in this or any other thread have you shown anything on Obama's record that shows he supports the 2nd Amendment. All you've done is say you don't believe the overwhelming evidence (including his own words) and stand by him because he says he won't at the moment.

It's not just a matter of hunting. McCain and Palin are both solid 2nd Amendment supporters -- Palin's even a life member of the NRA. Obama has nothing but negative on his record in regards to the 2nd Amendment. And yet you just won't see it. If that ain't drinking the kool-aid, I don't know what is.

Cool it with the sanctimonious crap. You get your little digs in about Kool Aid and crack and then cry foul when you are responded to in kind.
