Just thought it would be a good topic for discussion since more states are being delisted and eventually hunting may be allowed. So we're curious how many people would actually participate in a hunt for wolf. |

Hunting coyotes is a rush so I can only imagine what it would be like to hunt a wolf. Of course, given the opportunity I might have to pass as my daughter loves wolves and would not be very happy with me. |

Yes, especially in the Rocky Mountains. I would try to limit out every year, to thin out the packs a little. _________________ Hiker

 Absolutely.
They should be treated just like coyote's and have hunting wherever populations allow.
Unfortunately, there are not yet hunting opportunities in areas that should already have regulations for controlled hunting. _________________ On the 8th day God created whitetails and bowhunting. |

I would have said no in the past but now that their numbers are up to sustainable (even overpopulated in areas) levels.......yes if under the right curcumstances. |

I don't think i would hunt the wolf . I sure would like to hang a few snares for them though . None in Nova Scotia so I'll have to stick with the coyote .....LOL _________________ I Lost My Best Friend Hammer 1 On April 15th / 09

I have hunted wolves for over 30 years and see no reason to stop now. They are doing just as well as they ever have up here in Canada and in Alaska. You guys in the lower 48 are starting to see what having wolves around can do to game populations when they are not controlled in the same manner as other game animals. They are a magnificent creature, but their numbers need to be kept in line and sport hunting will certainly not endanger them.
Any time I get the chance, whether specifically hunting for wolf or as an incidental animal while chasing something else, I will take a wolf when it is legal and I have a tag in my pocket (if needed). _________________ Let no good deed go unpunished. |
