So we had an alright 2nd season (sorry it took so long to post but school got REAL heavy when I got back). I got my cow, my bro got his bull and my roommate got his first animal, a doe.

So I since there is no way that I will ever have the resources ($$$) to complete any sort of real slam, I created my own. It's called the Poor Man Slam and it consists of taking a representative of all the affordable species in Colorado (or the the other western states). Deer, antelope, bear, elk and turkey. After harvesting my first antelope this year, I have completed it.

Anyone care to share their success or progress on the poor man slam?

hawkeye, you have had an excellent year, it just goes to show that a regular guy can get it done. Great job! Thumbs up

As far as your poor man's slam I have everything except an antelope. I have taken lots of the others though. Evil!

By the way where's the pics?

Here's our animals from 2nd rifle. I'm trying to get pics uploaded of some of my other animals that I haven't posted before like my non-typical bull but I've got formatting issues.

Alright... here's a pic of my first bull. Don't ask me why I look like I'm about fed up with the world in the close shot.

Congrats on the great year, I guess I'm just missing the bear to complete mine. But if you're looking for additional "slams", I've got two I'm working on: take a deer in all 49 states they are native to, and an elk in every state that allows nonresident hunting.

I shot a Mule Deer doe here in Colorado, an Antelope Doe here in Colorado, a Whitetail Buck in Kansas, and a Whitetail Doe in Kansas. I stuck a Bull Elk this year but couldn't find him.....Almost did a clean sweep with my bow this year!

Good Times......

I've killed Coyotes, Armadillos, and Raccoons this year with my bow as well! Both in Kansas and Colorado
I shot a bear 3 times with rubber blunt tips from my front door, but that was to get him out of my trash bin 3 different nights!!!!

You can bet I'm putting in for a bear tag for my area for next year too!

be careful with the use of the term slam. Dennis Campbell from the grand slam club will come sue you. He sued the north american wild sheep foundation for using the term grand slam with sheep. and won.

I am just joking with you and laughing at dennis for this.

Also as far as sheep hunting and the price. Some people save all there lives and don't by new trucks and other stuff. It all depends on priorities.
