well opening morning had me within 15 yards of a 26 inch wide 5 by 6 staring at my wobbling gun barrel and my exhaled breath he lowerd his head behind some sage so i pivioted for a shot busted by does he wandered off a hundred fifty yards or so into my brother in laws bullet the next morning my other hunting buddy shot a 24 inch wide 23 inch tall 3 by 4 the next 2 days had me only seeing cows and bulls . Starting to fell that it wasnt gona happen my pards
got up early with me and took me back out they dropped me off and i climbed up a hog back to wait for the sun . After about an hour of watching a doe watch me i noticed my brother in law walking and glassing 350 to 400 yards west of me . i had 2 smaller bucks below me in some junipers snorting but could never see them so i looked up to see my brother in law and instead saw this guy about 175 yards away i forgot my binos in the car all i new when i pulled the trigger was he was legal What a suprise

Awesome hunting story, sounds like yall cleaned house. My cous had the same feeling the last day of season in unit 2B NM wednesday morning,i tagged out on a nice one monday morning and he was sweating it out. I went with him to be a spotter, when he wanted to go straight back to the truck to take off his overalls,i suggested we'd head up a draw were i killed mine and make a loop back, shur enough it paid off. I spotted the buck at 75yds behind a tree,he never saw him. He shot and missed two the previous day,but third times a charm. Decent 5x6,not that wide but what a buck.
