Bout the only thing I ahve noticed myself is, it can be tougher going if it is clear out during the full moon as they will eat all night and can lay around all day hidden. Think

I always try to be in the woods during the major feed times provided by my garmin GPS. It is based of of lunar pahses and the animals for the most part feed acording to the moon. now that its full on rut the animals are dumb and forget this natural cycle and are just chasing hot does and cows around... this is just my thoughts i dont know how true they are lol....

hmmm.... I guess we will find out. I went out last Sunday (it was a full moon) came across fresh tracks EVERYWHERE.

I am going out again this weekend and the moon phase is suppose to be 3/4. Then in two weeks suppose to be a New Moon.

I always was under the assumption that the Full Moon is good hunting, keeps them moving more. But if you think about it, there's prob more activity during the night into the early morning hours vs most of the activity during the day on a New Moon phased night.

I can say that due to the full moon this last week, it was a big deal.
We saw fresh tracks each morning, many of those within my own foot prints from the previous day.
The elk stayed hidden in dark timber and their hidey holes. It was bad timing for me.

We also saw fresh track every day every where!!! Also some track on the prints from my boots from the day before. We were hunting at 10500 and w/ the full moon and clear nights the elk were in the thicket and did not have to work very hard for food, by the end of the week it was like 50 degrees at 10500 so we knew they had moved back to the higher terain. Personally if i can avoid a full moon in the future i will!

Yea, I agree... In my opinion New Moon vs Full Moon. Full moon lets them feed all night and bed and rest during the day versus venturing out at first light till mid day.
