Hey, I'm planning on starting to hunt some time next year or at the latest the year after that. Does anybody know any good places up in the crown lands that they can recommend? I basically just want to go up, put up a tent, and hunt. I don't want to spend a lot of money for one hunting trip.

Cashworth.................you might have better luck if you narrow things down a bit from Eastern Canada. As you know that is a fairly large chunk of land. A province would get things started I suspect. Thumbs up

I'm not specifically familiar with the south...the MNR office responsible for your area should have a "Crown Land Recreational Use Map" (At leat they do for E Ont) that they sell. Also the Backroad Adventure Mapbooks (most Canadian Tire stores sell them) can point you in the right direction. They don't show crown land, but from reading the comments about lakes, rivers, parks etc you can get an idea which areas have lots and which don't. I imagine it will be pretty slim pickings down there though. You might want to head north/east a bit - much more opportunity.
