Hunter777 , We have a high population of bears in ths neck of the woods the past # of years . We 've caught a few double headers, not always the first night . But both on the same day .
Got 10 nice roasts in the freezer and 11 jars done in the perssure canner .. The deer meat is next ... Then some rabbits .. You know what one poor guy is going to be eating all winter ...LMAO....

Yep looks like some good eating congrats.
Can you explain how snare hunting/trapping works, I awesome you catch them in a leg trap then come by later and finish off the animal?

Redrider ,How are ya .?? The bears are usually the first on my agenda , Doing a little bird hunting now while wating for the deer season . I'm not going to be in a big panic to get the traps and snares out . Their looking for good heavy furs . I 'm going to hold off for a couple weeks anyway .
Anything you want to know about the cat snaring let me know buddy

Good thing we don't trap for cash these days, cause nothing seeming to move very fast. Cats only thing worth anything here, and that's at half the price it should be.
I'm sure I'll have questions when I get to rollin' in a month or so.
Good to hear from ya buddy! Be Safe!

I dont know if I told you but I finally drew a Pa bobcat tag....took 4 years.
I'm going to trap with a friend for a week in Jan in the swamps around my house.
Red...the trip to Vermont was fun. My daughter had a great time and it was nice to spend that time with her. We got out run by the bear the first day. The second day we couldn't even find a track. Everyone had things to do on Sunday so we went home that night which made my wife very happy.
Mr Nail. I would love to watch you set for and snare a bear some day.

Redrider , how are ya ?? . The price of furs this season I expect to be pretty much the same as last . The heavier furs should be not too bad . Not good mind ya ,but still should sell . I sold 3 nice big beavers last season for 12 bucks and change , Needless to say, me and the beaver will be at peace this season .. LOL ...
Lay them on me buddy any questions you have ...
Hunter 777 , Not sure what your regs are in your state, but if you have any questions ,, you be sure to lay yours on me too buddy .

We are not allowed to trap bear in my state.....unless you work for the government of course!
The only state that I am aware of that it is legal for sportsman to trap bear is in Maine.
