Anyone ever taken a Watusi?

From what I hear they are originally from Africa, a kind of wild cattle that has some huge horns and make some good eating as well an impressive mount.

The big longhorns do look good.

I've seen the Watusi at 2 different places I've hunted for exotics in the past-the bases on their horns are massive! I would imagine they'd taste just like beef probably, maybe a bit less fat though.

they are tough as nails and not much of a sporting hunt...neighbor shot one few years back an when he took it to the taxidermist he told me the guys at the shop laughed their arses off at some fool paying to shoot one....but hey it was his dime! same guy has a Scottish Coos steer mounted too in his basement..hairy looking thing with wide horns.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting a real physically/mentally challenging hunt from a Watusi, I wouldn't do it for those reasons. That's what free range deer hunting and turkey hunting are for, and an elk hunt, at least for me.

I think I'd have to find another taxidermist if mine decided he was going to laugh at me when I am about to shell out $1000+ for him to mount something though.
