OK so the IDFG posts how many wolves are harvested for each area but they never say where in the zone they are shot . Does anyone know where you can find this info? I have heard a few from the St. Joe and bonners but nothing in stone. Any help would be great. I am not looking to go out and shoot one just wondering where they are getting shot?

Yeah, I can't find any current info. That's disappointing. If anyone can find current quotas, etc. - please post.

http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/c...../quota.cfm

been posted on the IDF&G site since seasons opened.

and by the way the score is 63 in the dirt and 157 to go. Thumbs up

If you just go to the IDF&G homepage, you have to go to two other pages to find this one.

Good Hunting,

Mule

Yeah thats what I have found also. But saying there have been 7 wolves shot in the panhandle is like saying you caught a walleye in Lake Pend Oreille. Thats really a needle in a hay stack. I mean areas?
ANYONE?

you said zone and that is probably why dpmule posted the zones.

i dont think there is any information as to which unit they are harvested. you might call the F&G and see if they have the info, but i dont think its on the website.

I was up in Unit 39 & 43 last week and saw nice big tracks in the snow however none still standing. I think you will find them in every hunting unit except for maybe the southern portions of ID. I have only ever seen one before back around 2000 in unit 43 but locals say they see them all the time

not sure how many killed so far up here Idaho Joe, but I did find a cow Elk that was killed by wolves last week on Blacktail Mountain. Plenty of huge wolf tracks in the mud around her and only the back end eaten (before the crows and yotes). I have not seen them but I heard them last year and planty of neighbors on the mountain have seen them this year.......fyi

If you want to know where wolves have been shot check with the regional office if they are not swamped they may be able to share info with you. All I can add is that its our goal to fill the quotas in Both Lolo and Panhandle wolf quota zones. [/img]

I know they closed portions of the Upper Snake River zones and the McCall-Weiser Zone has one tag left.

I so wanna bag me one, but I'm not traveling clear up to Lolo or Salmon to shoot one.

that pic is awesome.

The Upper Snake zone is closed, not just a portion, along with the McCall/Weiser.
Thought you were going to drag your GF around 66 /69 for a cow?

Good money says someone will poke a wolf between the river and Grays lake
