I am looking for someone that has been on a Red Stag hunt in Argentina that can suggest a good outfitter. I am wanting to hunt on the eastern slope of the Andes in the patagonia region. I hate to book a trip with someone that I know nothing about. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

x1. Never been there but am planning a trip in a couple years time. This one sounds promising, but is in the La Pampa area:

Been in touch with their marketing guy and it seems to be quite OK.

That's right about the time I am looking at, some where around April of 2012. What kind of prices did they give you on a Red Stag hunt? I couldn't find any listed on the website. I found an outfitter in the area I am wanting to go but have yet to get a list of references. Thanks for the reply and link.

Well, they do not post prices on the web but sent me a full brochure after my contacting them. They have packages at around $4000-5000 which includes one free ranging red stag, a wild boar and a ram or the like. Also included is 7 days of full hotel service and meals at what seems to be a nice place.

How affordable are the Moose hunts in Sweden?

Well, honestly I don't know. In contrast to the US, the right to hunt here is very closely related to the ownership of land, so what you need is to own land or to be good friend with somebody who does. If so, hunting here is very cheap. I'm sure there are more commercial alternatives - I saw one moose hunt today which would cost about $1200 including two days all-inclusive lodging. Not very expensive, about what you would pay in NH excluding all the license fees etc. The big difference is of course that you would not have to buy lottery tickets for 15+ years to get a tag in NH - we harvest about 80 000 moose a year in Sweden whereas the NH harvest this year was a most meager 340 something moose - altogether...

But I hunt - so far - exclusively with my custom S&W hunting revolver and that's unfortunately illegal in Sweden. So I primarily hunt in the US, but would also love to go to Argentina.

I have the luck to have some friends in SWE, so I have only to pay for the jagdkut and nothing else when hunting at roedeer, redstag and boars. For moose I have to pay about 1000 SKR.
