Are you referring to this or another case? Sounds like Idaho has had an unfortunate run of poaching cases lately...

By the way, nice muley!

It is a different case. Well the reason I feel for the poaching is Zach Shetler took the #1 state P&Y buck and 4th in the world and the rumors going around was he was offered between $15,000 - $50,000 for the horns and head. But those where the rumors. Then I heard a couple weeks ago that he sold it to Cabela's for $15,000 with a replica of it. But I figure it's all the rumors of the money that got alot of people out to poach.Even though they do not realize how hard it would be to sell them.A world record class I mean.

So you think Zach's buck set off the burst of poaching, in that these kids thought they could sell the rack/mount?

Its possible, Ebay seems to sell alot of mounts/racks and there is no checking to see if the mount/rack was harvested via legal means. Perhaps people are trying to cash in, although it still is unfair to law abiding hunters.

ChesterGolf mentioned a while back that somebody stole all his racks. Plus Idaho's Fish and Game had a trophy mount that was nabbed last year...

No not saying that. But kids will be kids. I know that sounds bad but it is true. To much time on there hands plus wanting to be a hero at school. But no not saying that his buck caused this at all. Just saying that some people are in it for money or for recogintion. It is wierd why people do what they do. But we have had alot of bucks found with there horns cut off this year and last. It is wild.

Well hopefully the kids will get a stiff enough sentence so they learn their lesson and they won't be a problem in the future.
