Wanted to know, who is using what kind of game camera's and how they like them. Looking for some info on the good and the bad on the different models that are on the market and also the price's. I have one digital cam trakker unit now. It is a 6.0 mega pixle camera that takes great pics. At the price of $900 plus the expense of having to build a steel box to place the camera in to keep the bears from tearing it up, i can't afford a second camera of that make. (plus my wife would kill me :[-X ) Any personal experience's with what is out their would be great. :thumbsup1:

i am using a mid end cam. i will never use any of the expensive ones

I have a sony, a moultrie and few other brand, the one u see on these posts are from moultrie cams

I never worry about losing my cams to bears , i never had this problem yet, but if i do i will not cry too much for losing it, if u had bears smashing ur cams before it is because u had ur odor or food odor on ur cams, once u setup everything then u setup ur cam and then wipe it with scentless soap and leave, u do this and u will never have to deal with bears braking ur cams anymore

I have a friend who put out several cams every year on baits and he has only lost one to a bear and that was a grizz, we think it didn't like the flash. It was only swipped once and it tore off the face of the camera alittle JB weld and it was put back out the next week. He uses the cheap moultrie cameras that are like $49 dollars at walmart.

I use trail cams for deer not bear, but I use the $40 Stealth Cam for the simple reason if one was stolen I wouldn't be out $$$$$. I've been more than satisfied with the results. I actually had one stolen last year from an area I didn't think anyone had ever been. Glad I bought the cheap one :thumbsup1: I posted some pictures a while back in the Whitetail forum under scouting camera pics if you would like to see the quality of pic.

I had a friend that bought a digital trail cam that had 1.something megapixel ( don't know brand), but he said it was junk. I would say if you are going with a digital go with the highest pixels you can afford. The ones I used took much better pics than the one he used. Only problem is waiting for the film.

I don't use a trail cam because I had been using a 500 Event trail timer and couldn't keep the bears from destroying it. I washed it inside and out with that scent free stuff , wore latex gloves to mount it, tried rubbing balsam gum on it to mask the smell but they'd chew it up every time. I just couldn't see myself springing for a more expensive camera only to have it end up as fodder or a punching bag for a dang bear.

Not bad at all :thumbsup1: is that the model pork was looking at? Does the flash work well at night? How about battery life? Thanks for the info.

the flash work really well at night. but what i did is covered the flash light with light paint cause i don't want to spook the bears, all i want is enough light to see the shade of the animal and of course the time it hit the bait.

as for the battery life , one of my moultries 100 cam took just about 200 photos and some were taking during the night until it finally died , so again not bad at all .

now just one downfall i've notice with the moultrei 100 is the range, the cam has to be within 20' or it won't pick up the motion, while other cameras of mine has much longer range, but again 20' to me is more then enough !

I am not sure if porka is looking at the same cams or has the same cam but i do recommend them to anyone, i've been happy with mine so far ! :D

I got it at Walmart, $79 on sale. I just put it up at my bait so I'll let you know how it works in about a week. So far I like it.
