There's a lot of different ways to approach this topic, but my vote goes to GPS. There's something to be said for leaving familiar territory behind, bushwhacking through the woods to take a shortcut, and coming out within feet of where you want to be.
But there's also a lot to be said in terms of firearms, clothing, transportation, etc. Anyone else have an opinion?

Now thats a good question. I would have to agree that GPS is just a wonderful thing; but first you have to know how to use it and second as I found this past season if you are hunting real ugly country deep steep canyons you don't always have a signal. SO I would have to vote for clothing. then if you do get hungout somewhere at least you are warm and dry.

I vote for reliable motorized vehicles. I doubt that there more than a handful of hunters who hunt without using some sort of motorized transport these days.

Just had another thought -- what about the Stanley stainless steel thermos?

My vote would be on the portable tree stand or the rifle scope.

GPS and 4x4's are tough to beat, but if your an archer, I imagine the compound bow comes up pretty high on the list.
