I wasn't too heavy on the trapping the last few years but am looking forward to it this fall .My son and I were hunting rabbits last winter and saw a few cat tracks and decided to hang a few snares. We put 5 snares out over about 10 miles and got 2 cats .Good winter cats , really prime . We done well on the nafa May sale >we got $217.00 a peice for them .You can bet there will be more than 5 snares out this fall. Never tried to call them , but might give it a try this fall .I have a call ,it's a rabbit distress call .From reading the fourms that call works alright for cat and coyote .One thing we have here is a lot of coyotes

| Congrats, that is a couple of good looking cats there. I have not had any luck calling cats in with the distress call but it works great for coyotes. |

I'm going to try calling coyotes this fall . Right now I have a friend that is having trouble with bears .He owns a receration park and is worried about his liability ins the dnr had a trap there for a while then took it away with no bear I'm going to see what I can do to get rid of the critter .Any sugestions ? |

| Since you obviously have a trappers license I would set a snare for the bear. It is probably the easiest way to get the bear and then you also have options after you snare it. You can shoot it (in season or with a pest permit) or you can call DNR and have them put it asleep and move it to another area. In which way is the bear causing problems? I have had numerous bears on the site of the last golf course I built but never had problems with them even though the potential was always there. |

chester golf , the trouble he has with the bear is that it's around the park where there is handy cap children and the critter could appear at any time .He's is very consearned about his liability ins if something would happen .Bears are very unpreditable . Exstreamly dangerous with cubs .The children aren't there all the time .There is always seniors there .The bear has already been there and got into 8 garbbage cans ..Anyway I'm going to see what I can do to get rid of the probblem .I 've caught a bear on the back end of his property every year that I set the snares .,>they're there every year .I thought there might be some tricks to get rid of the critter that I didn't know about .

| If you had any idea where the den was you might be able to take some dogs in the area and attempt to scare the bears out of the area but I suspect that if they are regular customers of the garbage cans then you only have one true way to control them and we both know what that would be. You should have no problem getting a pest control permit given the circumstances. |
