| Female mountain lion attacked 7 year old boy in Boulder, CO. Officer shot and killed the lion. Little boys injuries weren't life theatening. |

| Funny how this doesn't get nearly the attention that the wolf attack in another thread got. I guess mountain lions are off the hook. |

One reason is because we can hunt and kill cougars and control their populations but the wolves are getting out of control in the rockies and all we can do is to sit back and beg the feds to do something while our elk & moose herds are suffering and dissappearing in certain parts of WY, West Yellowstone, MT & Northern Idaho. We need something to be done now, before its to late. Government red tape is taking way to long.
It has taken us 100 years of good wildlife management to build our herds up but only one decade to see the wolves and grizzlies put a serious hurt on them. |

| I don't want to turn this into another wolf thread, but the reason is not that the Feds are taking too long it's the damn judges who keep siding with the enviros and blocking any sane management! |

stillhunter,
I agree. The wolf situation is getting worse and something needs to happen soon.
I am very thankful that this little boy is OK. Boulder has outlawed any hunting and the deer population has exploded, so these Mountain Lion problems aren't going away anytime soon. |
